I am a registered practitioner of Ageing Unplugged®, a programme developed by the Essex Institute to help make the most of your later years. We work through health and emotional issues, and learn how to stay healthy and active for longer.
Ageing Unplugged® is aimed at a variety of ages, from people in their 40s and 50s to people in their 80s and 90s and beyond. Often from 40 onwards we might start to notice slight changes as we get older, such as blood pressure or joint pain, and may need to make lifestyle changes. Or we may be perfectly healthy and simply want to ensure we maintain our physical and mental health for as long as possible. We might already have reached a ripe old age and want motivation to keep mentally and physically active. Ageing Unplugged® helps with all these things.
The programme helps those of us who are much older to make necessary lifestyle changes like adapting to mobility issues, cope with palliative care, and make sure our mental and physical needs are met, and that we maintain positivity and interest in life.
The programme creates an acceptance of that which cannot be changed, the ability and resources to make change where it is possible, and a major reduction of underlying stress and anxiety. All of which makes for physical health improvements and improvement in general wellbeing. But it’s more than that, because we focus on what’s wanted rather that what is feared or unwanted, so consequently the whole package leads to better physical and psychological health.
This is not a course of Hypnotherapy, although it does involve learning some self-hypnosis techniques.
The programme also deals with stress, weight loss, smoking cessation, fear of death and much more. For more information, visit the official website here – Ageing Unplugged Website
